In the event of a power failure or other technical defect, the electric blackout blind can also be opened manually.
To operate the blackout blind manually, access to the motor gear is necessary. Depending on the vehicle, it may be necessary to remove the fairing or the inspection flaps to allow access to the engine gearbox.
The left motor controls the lower handle and the right motor the upper one. Depending on the malfunction, either the lower or the upper handle must be unlocked first.
Before unlocking, the plastic tube (see circle below) must first be removed.
- Press the white safety push button (A) into the gearbox and hold it down
- Insert the supplied emergency crank (picture) into the provided receptacle (B) and crank the handle bars upwards (if no emergency crank is available, any hexagonal tool will also fit here)
- When both handles are cranked out of sight, you must pull the safety push button (A) out of the motor gear.
- When the power supply is restored, the system initialises a reference run of the handles. Regular start-up via the operating button is now possible again.
If the malfunction continues to occur, we recommend that you have this checked and, if necessary, repaired by a nearby Dethleffs dealer.
