In the event of a power failure or other technical defect, the electric blackout blind can also be opened manually.
Access to the motor gearbox is required to operate the blackout blind manually. Depending on the vehicle, it may be necessary to remove the panelling or the inspection flaps to allow access to the engine gearbox.
The left-hand motor controls the lower handle bar and the right-hand motor controls the upper handle bar. Depending on the fault, either the lower or the upper handle bar must be unlocked first.
Before unlocking, the plastic tube (see circle below) must first be removed.
- Press the white safety push-button (A) into the gearbox and hold it down
- Insert the supplied emergency crank (Fig.) into the holder provided (B) and crank the handle bars upwards (if no emergency crank is available, any 6 Kant will fit)
- When both handle bars are cranked out of sight, you must pull the safety push button out of the motor gearbox.
- Once the power supply is restored, the system initialises a reference run of the handle bars. Regular commissioning via the operating button is now possible again.
If the fault continues to occur, we recommend that you have this checked and, if necessary, repaired by a nearby Dethleffs dealer.
