Absorber and compressor fridges differ primarily in terms of energy types.
The compressor fridge (operating source 12V) impresses with its usually small installation space and minimal installation effort.
The absorption fridge (operating source 12V/230V/gas) is usually used for larger volume requirements. Another advantage here is that most models have an automatic energy selection function, which means that if one source fails, they automatically switch to another available source. A clear disadvantage, however, is the various sources, which require a very high installation effort.
The use of fridges in particularly cold or hot regions is often discussed. To find out which temperature range your fridge is suitable for, refer to the generally applicable climate classes; the classification of your appliance can be found on the type plate of your fridge.
