Depending on the vehicle type, the vehicle’s radio antenna is either visibly mounted on the roof, in the vehicle’s right-hand exterior mirror or installed within the instrument panel (also known as the dashboard).
The antennas can be designed to receive FM and/or DAB+ here. This always depends on which transmission types the installed radio device can process. The easiest way to find out is via the device’s menu.
For antennas mounted on the roof, you should be aware that they can get damaged through inattention, for example if not taking care when driving under an obstacle (branches of a tree, for example). You should also be careful with this at the car wash.
If your radio starts to experience signal interference, you should first check whether adjusting the transmission frequency fixes the issue or whether the vehicle is currently in an area with limited signal reception. If the disruption lasts for a longer period of time, you should consult a servicing or contractual partner, who will check the radio system.
